1.0.2: Auto-Update and Super Large Downloads!

We’ve just released a new version (1.0.2) of SocialFolders. We strongly encourage you to download it and upgrade ASAP.

Besides a number of small fixes, this new version brings some important features:

Pagination when fetching files from your online accounts.

I know, that sounds techie, but what it really means is that you can now downloadthousands of files onto a single folder! You might have experienced issues when connecting to Facebook, Flickr, Picasa or other accounts with a very large number of photos to recover. If it has been the case for you, then give it another try with the new version.

That should go smoothly for you now, as it has been for our good friend Sushubh from India. Sushubh is one of SocialFolders’ very early adopters and beta users. With over 25,000 photos and 45GB, backing up his Flickr account was rather challenging… Well, Sushubh has started using the new release on Saturday and everything went well so far.

Auto-update

1.0.2 is the last version we will ask you to download manually. SocialFolders now includes an auto-update mechanism. Future versions will download and install automatically.

Proxy settings

In addition, we have also included the possibility to set up your proxy configuration, just in case you use SocialFolders at work …after all, silent sync’ing of your online content shouldn’t prevent you to work, right? :)

Plus, you can even use SocialFolders for business purposes! Have you thought about sync’ing your Google Documents, or storing the Flickr photos of your last company event in your Box.net account?
